14 views / New

22”’ | Hand Wind | Swiss Lever | Small Seconds | Minute Repeater | Chronograph |

Remarks:

  • Minute repeater with two hammers on bell springs
  • Column-wheel chronograph (central stop second, no minutes counter)
  • Chrono parts on the bridge side, repeater parts on the dial side
  • The movement shown is missing the minute wheel
  • The movement is marked with two Swiss patent numbers
    • 334 on the dial side
      CH334 was granted to C. Barbezat-Baillot in 1889, and cancelled in 1904.
    • 12172 on the bridge side
CH12172 was granted to Stolz Frères in 1896, and cancelled in 1901.
    • Probably Hahn used parts of these patents after they were cancelled, or the have licensed their usage before
  • Charles Hahn registered a very similar movement in 1896 in the Swiss Official Gazette of Commerce as model no. 885.
  • Invicta also marked some of their repeaters with Swiss patent numbers 334 and 12172 (see Invicta Répétition à quarts + Chronographe”’). So this repeater could also be made from Invicta, using a base movement from Hahn.
